Loki portrait by GoreChick Loki portrait by GoreChick
This was a really hard angle to draw, but I think it turned out alright. It's definitely my favorite print screen of Loki ever. So beautiful. I think maybe I like the poster a little bit more. Unfortunately there are some ugly lines on the picture because I had to use three papers to be able to draw everything. The reason why I left out alot of shading was because I decided I wanted to color it and it would be hard because of the shadows. His left eye is too big, but other than that I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

Thank you very much ^^ I was worried I had failed with the smile, but I guess it turned out good then. It was hard because there was a very discreet smile on the original picture. I think my portrait came out more sad looking than the photo.

Thanks alot ^^ The shadows are supposed to be that dark, but I stopped shading in the middle of it all. Almost everything on the right side of the helmet was dark on the photo. I just chose not to shade everything because I wanted to color it

Thank you very much ^^ I'm glad you like it. Hm. I've read that it's easier to draw a portrait if the photo is black and white because then you wont be confused by different colors and shades. I think any picture can be made black and white in photoshop or a similar program. I know that some people use a drawing grid. I dont know how to make one and I'm bad at explaining ^^; but here's a picture of what I'm talking about  www.drawfamousfaces.com/wp-con…

When I draw, I tend to be very careful with getting the right distances between all the details and all the shadows, as well as all the body parts and armor parts and so on. I also make sure to pay attention to what angles everything has. When I was working on his neck and chest, I still made sure that everything was in line with what I had drawn earlier- like the face and the details there. I also noticed that when I took a break from the drawing and then came back to look at both pictures, I noticed things I hadnt seen before, like things I had drawn wrong. I hope this helps some ^^

Sorry for the late reply (:

Oh that's smart! I totally understand where you are coming from, don't worry. I've never really been the one for sketching, just cartoons.

And yeah, it helps. Thanks so much for the detailed response! I'll be definitely be using your tips for future drawing! Thanks!
